Afghanistan's opposition commander Ahmed Shah
Masood, says he does not rule out a peace dialogue with the ruling
Taleban faction, but Pakistan has to stop interfering in the conflict
first.
Commander Massood told reporters in the Tajik capital Dushanbe his
alliance might even accept a provisional government with the Taleban. But
he said that government should only last for six months or a year. Then,
he said the provisional government can hold general elections under the
United Nations and the group of countries united within the
'six-plus-two' formula.
The six-plus-two countries are Afghanistan's neighbors Iran, China,
Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan as well as
Uzbekistan, Russia and the United States.
